The second class was making a rose-shaped millinery. First, I cut a circle of willow and sewed it using a sewing machine to make a conical shape. To fit the edge of the bias, I bound a wire and sewed it with an interlining. Next step was choosing three different kinds of fabric and cutting into proper size. I folded these in half and linked as in a chain. It becomes the innermost part of the rose. For making a rose petal, I placed another bias across these. After repeating it twice more, I sewed the last bias to fix all the petals. A rose-shaped millinery is completed! It was my first time to use a sewing machine and I liked learning how to use it. Also, the process of making a rose-shaped millinery was enjoyable.
