This video is about the semiotics of fashion. I was impressed by the words of Ralph Lauren, "I don't design clothes. I design dreams". It means that semiotics in fashion refers to creativity that contains the designer's views and philosophy beyond just the meaning of clothes themselves. Therefore, fashion trends at the time derived from designers also have a meaning which represents that era.

I think semiotics are related to everything around us, as well as to art and design, including fashion and theatre design. We can use semiotics to produce more diverse designs in that it has a meaning representing the era, culture, or a certain group of people. For example, we can share the same meaning with audience using semiotics to give them a better understating of our work. In addition, we can create our own meaning that leads to the trend. Although the semiotics seems somewhat difficult at first, it is interesting and useful concept for boosting creativity.
